I am a 24 year old entrepreneur hailing from Philadelphia, PA. Actually, I am from a town called Langhorne, but it is only a few minutes north of Philly. I run a bakery making one of Philadelphia’s trademark foods, Philly Soft Pretzels. If you haven’t had one, you are missing out.
I try to spend my free time doing the things I love such as working out, watching movies, web design, blog consulting, listening to new music and lots of other stuff. I play on a few indoor soccer teams throughout the week. It keeps me young, although I’d like to think I don’t have to worry about my age just yet.
I have many “isms”, although I am never really serious about them. One of them is that I am a strong proponent that the amount of cheese on a sandwich is directly proportional to the amount of meat (2 slices of meat for 1 slice of cheese). Weird, right? Hopefully, you will get a glimpse of my other isms here on this site.
Now on to the more serious stuff.
Academics
I attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Information Science. While studying, I created a few websites including a book trading service (which was shut down by the University) and a music recommendation service called SoundKid.
My major was information systems, but my focus was on graphic design and human-computer interaction. I also have a minor in Spanish and Business for good measure.
Professional
I was hired directly out of college by a company called Deloitte Consulting. They are one of the biggest international consulting firms out there so the experience I gained working for them is immeasurable.
I worked on projects in Austin, Texas (Public Sector), Bryn Mawr, PA (Energy Sector), New York, NY (Non Profit Sector), Long Branch, NJ (Healthcare Sector) and many more areas. I absolutely love client service so consulting was a perfect fit for me.
In 2007, My career took a complete 180. I left Deloitte to open a Philly Soft Pretzel franchise. I figured if I was going to work my tail off, I might as well work for myself. To this day, I haven’t looked back.
I currently do part time IT Consulting for a medium size water company in the Northeast called Aqua America. I also do web design and blog consulting when time is available.
